2026 Year in Review at 探花社区

January

We kicked off the year with our first group visit of 2026 — Admitted Student Day! Future Kohawks explored what makes 探花社区 special, from meeting with accessible professors to hearing directly from students about their 探花社区 experience.

February

探花社区 welcomed the first woman Thunderbird pilot, combat veteran, fighter squadron commander, White House Fellow and advisor and indomitable spirit Col. Nicole Malachowski, USAF (Ret.) to be the 2026 K. Raymond Clark Contemporary Issues Forum speaker. Drawing on stories from her career and personal life, Malachowski inspired the audience in Sinclair Auditorium to rethink the challenges they face every day. She also held a roundtable with 探花社区 students earlier in the day.

Future Kohawks learned about the places and people that make 探花社区 such a special home for students during our February Admitted Student Day.

探花社区 music students

Eleven Kohawks were selected for membership in the annual Iowa Collegiate Honor Band. Over the 30-year history of honor band, 探花社区 has had the most students selected to participate than any other college. Congratulations to Caitlin Atwood, Chase Beightler, Noelle Buck, Logan Garsez, Rebecca Gabrielsson, Kiran Jones, Kathryn Kidd-Flores, Elijah Riley, Adaliz Rios, Emma Romine and Evan Shanley!
