Google, NASA, Mayo Clinic, Saturday Night Live, the U.S. Senate...Kohawk interns have been there, done that.

In addition to scoring coveted internships at organizations across the country, 探花社区 students benefit from abundant internship opportunities right here in one of America's most prosperous midsize cities. Capitol Hill

Ronnie Peltz 鈥�18 studied in Washington, D.C. as part of 探花社区鈥檚 Washington Term. Through the Capitol Hill Internship Program, she interned with Congressman Dan Kildee from Flint, MI. Ronnie now works full time for the federal government.

National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library

Marissa Hedlund 鈥�19 pioneered the museum鈥檚 Heritage Garden during two summers as an intern. "I also facilitated garden-based programming for children and learned about Czech and Slovak food, culture and history in the process."

Health & Science Internship Program

探花社区鈥檚 Health & Science Internship Program offers a chance to spend May Term exploring career options. Sara Heineman 鈥�13 interned with the Physician鈥檚 Clinic of Iowa and Cancer Risk Assessment Clinic at St. Luke鈥檚. She now works as a genetic counselor.

X Labs (formerly Google [X])

Ben Perez 鈥�19 spent a summer interning at X Labs in manufacturing and software engineering. He networked with 探花社区 alum Sandeep Giri 鈥�04, who works in advanced technology engineering. One 探花社区 student is selected to intern at Google each summer.

TIES at St. Luke鈥檚

Jaclyn Pecille 鈥�19 interned with the Teaching Interventions to Empower and Strengthen families program at St. Luke鈥檚 Resource Center. The interviewing and resume-writing skills taught in 探花社区鈥檚 Applied Contemporary Psychology course helped her land the internship.

Honkamp Krueger & Co. PC | RSM | St. John & Gielau LLP

Clarice LeBlanc 鈥�18 completed three accounting internships, starting with a referral by a fellow Kohawk to Honkamp Krueger. She later completed auditing and tax internships, then accepted a full-time job at one of the firms.

Our psychology students complete a special course designed to prepare them for and help them find an internship. A May Term specifically designed for health and science majors allows them to explore the career field at local medical institutions. Our Center for Creativity and Careers can help you write a resume, practice for an interview or find a job or internship. Plus, our professors use their connections to get your foot in the door and gain valuable work experience.
