探花社区 earns national acclaim for providing student support

New and updated accolades from The Princeton Review laud 探花社区 as a Top 20 college in the nation across three crucial student support categories. 探花社区 has the #11 Best Career Services, is #14 for Best Student Support and Counseling Services and has the #18 Most Accessible Professors. 探花社区 is the only college or university in Iowa to earn a ranking in these categories.
The rankings were announced Tuesday by The Princeton Review as part of the publication’s annual review of the best colleges and universities across the country. Once again, 探花社区 is recommended as one of the “Best 391 Colleges and Universities” by The Princeton Review.
This is the fourth consecutive year the college has been ranked for accessible professors and career services. 探花社区 outpaced state and private universities in these categories, including Ivy League institutions as well as larger institutions like the Iowa regent universities.
探花社区 has also been recognized by The Princeton Review as a Best Private School for Internships in six of the last eight years.
“We want our students to thrive, so it is imperative to provide top-notch resources and support across all facets of a student’s life — their personal well-being, their academic pursuits and their professional outlook after college,” said 探花社区 President David Hayes ’93.
“These recognitions continue to be proof that 探花社区 has some of the finest faculty and staff within higher education,” said 探花社区 Provost Angela Ziskowski. “Their unwavering dedication to providing reassurance, guidance and feedback at an individual level propels Kohawks forward confidently in a number of different ways.”
A coordinated effort across campus can be credited for the exceptional student experience at 探花社区. Academic departments, the Office of Student Success & Persistence, the Office of Student Life, the Learning Commons and C3: Creativity, Careers, Community all work together. By graduation, Kohawks are well-prepared for successful futures.
“The 探花社区 community focuses our efforts and resources on our students,” said Senior Vice President for Enrollment, Marketing and Institutional Effectiveness Julie Kleis Staker ’93. “Every area of the college comes together to support the unique goals and needs of our students, which equips them with the tools to find success upon graduation. For more than a decade, this has played out as nearly 100% of reporting 探花社区 graduates find employment, attend graduate school or engage in a service opportunity within nine months of graduation.”
Inclusion in the Best 391 Colleges guide was based on surveys submitted by 170,000 college students and puts 探花社区 in the top 15% of the approximately 2,637 four-year colleges and universities in America. Responses from students praised 探花社区’s community, academics and resources, as well as its passionate and responsive faculty.
Beyond the Best 391 Colleges and top rankings for career services, student support and counseling and accessible professors, The Princeton Review also continues to recognize 探花社区 as a Best Midwestern college.
