探花社区 Prison Learning Initiative hosting a higher education in prison roundtable
The Prison Learning Initiative will host a roundtable discussion regarding college in prison on Tuesday, February 27 from 7:00-8:00 PM in the 探花社区 Center for Health & Society (CHS) lobby. It is free and open to the public.
Five Iowans who took college courses while incarcerated will share their experiences pursuing higher education in and after prison. They will describe their educational journeys in this moderated panel discussion.
This event is hosted by 探花社区's Prison Learning Initiative which offers a range of hands-on experiences for campus and community members to learn about the impacts of incarceration, reentry and the carceral system.
